BINDU PRADEEP

I am from Cherthala, Alapuzha District, Kerala. Alapuzha is famous for it's serene back waters and boat race. Till 7th standard, I studied in Public School, Pattanakad, Cherthala. Rest of the schooling, I did from St. Josephs's Girls High School, Alapuzha. Both of my parents are retired college professors. They used to teach at N. S. S College, Cherthala. I did my pre-degree from St. Michael's College, Cherthala. I completed my MBBS Degree from Alapuzha Medical College and House Surgeoncy from Kottayam Medical College.

I got married to Pradeep in 1991 and we have a loving son Siddharth who is now studying in the 7th standard.

I worked in various hospitals in Kerala & Assam. After coming to Mumbai, I joined P. D. Hinduja Hospital. Later, I did my post graduation in Nuclear Medicine (DRM, Mumbai University) from Tata Memorial Hospital. Now I am working in the Nuclear Medicine Department of Lilavati Hospital.

Nuclear medicine is a branch of medicine and medical imaging that uses unsealed radioactive substances in diagnosis and therapy. These substances consist of radionuclides, or pharmaceuticals that have been labeled with radionuclides (radiopharmaceuticals). In diagnosis, radioactive substances are administered to patients and the radiation emitted is measured. The majority of these diagnostic tests involve the formation of an image using a gamma camera. Nuclear medicine imaging tests differ from most other imaging modalities in that the tests primarily show the physiological function of the system being investigated as opposed to the anatomy.
